Thirteen hours of teaching by Shohaku Okumura on the Genjokoan chapter of Dogen Zenji's Shobogenzo. This kind of in-depth analysis of the text and its applicability to our daily life and practice is not available anywhere else. Includes PDF with Okumura Roshi's translation of Shobogenzo Genjokoan. Recorded during a Genzo-e retreat at Sanshinji in Bloomington, IN, this collection contains Okumura Roshi's lectures on "Shobogenzo Genjokoan" (Actualization of Reality). During a 5 day Genzo-e Retreat at Sanshinji, Okumura Roshi gives 2 lectures per day, each approximately 90 minutes. These lectures have been minimally edited and divided by topic for ease of listening. These talks were given using Okumura Roshi's own translation of the text.

Recorded during the Fall 2008 Genzo-e Retreat in Bloomington, this CD contains Okumura Roshi's lectures on Shobogenzo Daigo ("Great Realization"). This chapter of Shobogenzo is essential to a study of Dogen Zenji's understanding of satori (variously translated as: "awakening", "enlightenment", "realization", "understanding"), a term that has been defined with many differing interpretations in Zen literature. Here, Okumura Roshi guides the listener through Master Dogen's poetic discourse leading us beyond the dualities of delusion, awakening, sentient beings, buddhas, time, eternity, practice, and true reality itself.
